Dr. Woojin Kim is a research fellow at Korea Institute of Finance (KIF), a quasi-governmental think tank in Korea which provides expert analysis for the development of Korea’s financial system. Throughout his work, he has been specializing in bank management, governance structure and M&As of financial institutions. Especially, during Korea’s comprehensive reform period (1998-2001), he got actively involved in the Government’s financial restructuring initiatives. From 2002 to 2004, he served as an outside board member of Chohung Bank (now merged with Shinhan financial group) and was also a special advisor to the chairman of the Board of Audit and Inspection of Korea. Before re-joining KIF in 2011, Dr. Kim was a Partner (FSI leader) of Deloitte Consulting Korea. He holds a B.A. from Seoul National University in economics and has received a Ph.D. from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
