Shyn Yong-Sang has been at the KIF since 2002 and currently serves as Director of both the Research Planning and Coordination Division and the Financial Skills Network Center. Prior to his current roles, he spent approximately five years as Chief of the Macroeconomic Research Division.

Dr Shyn has also taken part in various government and private sector research projects. He was an Advisor for the Monetary Policy Advisory Group at the Bank of Korea from 2006-7, Advisor of the Presidential Transition Committee in 2008, Associate Editor of the Journal of Korean Economic Analysis from 2006 to 2009, and has been Director of the Korea Monetary and Finance Association (KMFA) since 2009.

He earned his undergraduate degree from Yonsei University and his PhD from Texas A&M University, both in economics.
